I know many, many of you fine folks have already done this, so the shock value is pretty muted. But I have to say, chewing at the PS90 with a reciprocating saw did not leave a good feeling in my stomach. It felt like terrible indigestion. Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end. Now off to the engravers....

So do you have to have the barrel re-crowned after doing this or do you just takes what you gets in the accuracy department?

I have a CMMG barrel on back-order. I may send this one to TROS down the line as a spare.

I know you had a big sh*t-eating grin on your face while you were hacking away at your barrel! No red droplets or fingers in the picture so I say it all went well! ::!!!:: Hopefully your barrel will comes back in stock soon!

Yep, everything intact. When my wife saw me with the saw, she grabbed the phone "Just in case". I think she had dialed 9-1- with her finger ready to go on the last 1. But no worries. I kept steaming up my glasses though, it was a little cool in the garage.

Why cut the factory barrel if you have a new one coming ? Just asking,

It was the easiest way to get the old barrel off. I don't have access to a drill press to try to drill out the blind pin. The sawed barrel is still in perfect shape to be cut and threaded as a back up.
