in the description he claims hiss ss192 he is selling is lead core.
His claim is false.

The factory never made any 192 with a lead core.

You are right, and I believe this ad is where I was first misinformed.
And now you know, or should.
They probably grabbed info off another retailer selling this stuff for $175/box, and claimed lead core and 2400fps from the Pistol :|

I emailed FN about the availability of ss195 and ss197. As you can see in the reply, the difference between ss192 and ss195 is NOT only a lead-free primer, but also a lead-free core.

Cut and paste from email. The top portion is the reply, the bottom portion is my original message:

The SS192 has been discontinued and the SS195LF has replaced it . The projectile is the same weight as the SS192, but it has an alluminum core instead of lead . It also has a lead-free primer. Both SS192LF and SS196SR are being shipped to the Distributors as soon as they are received from Belguim. In September or October, we will start producing the ammo in the USA. Have not received info on the SS197 as of yet.

this was his reply to me, I just hate false advertising.

According to his email to me he should be chiming in on this thread any time defending himself, that should be interesting!
Did you email FN Herstal, or FNH USA? FNH USA CS got taken over by Browning, and they know JACK about this weapons platform. SS192/T194/SS195/SS198 all use the exact same bullet. a 27gr copper jacketed ALUMINUM core bullet.
SS192/T194/SS195/SS198 all use the exact same bullet. a 27gr copper jacketed ALUMINUM core bullet.
And all are the same except the 195 and 198 use lead free primers, and the 198 is loaded a little hotter.

Since he was apparently misinformed about the ammo he is welcome to join in and we'll gladly give him the correct information.

Hey guys,

I work for the seller listed in Grinderhead's OP. While it does seem that 10 years ago there was a belief that SS192 was lead core, it does appear that is not the case - despite there being a direct claim from FN that is was. I was around for the thread I emailed to Grinderhead and that is what I remembered and thus what I based my reply on. Obviously I had incorrect information. The listing has been corrected.

Now, why would I care to address this in a public forum? Well, Grinderhead directly accused me of fraud in one of his replies. I take that rather seriously, especially when he claims to have posted about the auction on several forums and that people were "getting a good laugh at your expense".

Both my personal reputation, and that of the shop I work for, is very important to me. At no time was the listing created with the intent to defraud someone by claiming that the projectile was lead core as opposed to aluminum. It was simply an error, but not one that actually changes what is being sold - FN factory loaded SS192.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your post and information. :?
Yes I did email FNH and they replied that ss192 was discontinued and what was on the market was aluminum core. I have no doubt about it but this guy insist his is lead core. I knew I could trust the knowledgeable people on this forum to verify what I was trying to tell him.

Did you gloss over my previous post here?
Thanks for correcting your ad Mike that is all I asked from the beginning.

Grinderhead, explain to me just how you were asking (active wording is "asking") me to correct the auction description. You obviously had information that dates back to 11/2014 concerning the issue, but never once offered to provide corroborating information to back your claims. Had you done so, I would have thanked you for the updated information and corrected the listing immediately. You just went straight to the fraud claim.

If you like I will post the email communications between us.

My original message to you was to correct the information because it was misleading, YOUR reply was "According to FN it was lead core" I also asked you to do your research which you replied
"I have stated fact as provided by FN. you claim they are wrong and this somehow is now fraud.

Please refrain from contacting us any more. Gunbroker has already contacted me and I have provided information that resolves your issue. " I'm not going to get into a pissing match about this with you,you have the correct info now and the ad is corrected, I accomplished what I set out to do.And actually your ad still reads the same.
