This is probably why FN gives that letter, since they've changed the charges so much on the SS195LF over the years. The older stuff is 50fps faster than the newer stuff :0

The 198 is the fastest factory round made.

This is extremely interesting.
Sure, changing loadings such as the propellant (powder) and/or the projectile shape happens for a given round designation (SS195 in this case), but FNH being in firearms for over a century should have been able to determine how to use the new components (powder and projectile shape) to NOT lose in-flight ballistics performance.

JHS said certain SS195 lots were sometimes the cause of some FiveseveN pistols failing to cycle properly.
Any idea which lots could these be?
