Hey, Just a quick question, I though the the SS195lf had been discontinued a while back. But recently I ordered some of them from MGW, and the lot is from 2020.
Anyone knows if they started manufacturing it again or so? I am just curious.

I've only started using 5.7 in January this year, up until now most if not all website were showing them as discontinued. A local gun store also told me they couldn't get them anymore so I don't know. I always thought they were gone

4 times a year lots of it are released, along with SS198 from Belgium. It's a pain in the for customers but high levels of customer service aren't on FNH's priority list. With ammo demands for Ruger I doubt they will increase production to sell more ammo for sme one else's gun.

Until recently, the SS198LF was not available for sale to the general public. Now, I agree. Go with the SS198LF. However, I still like my white bos SS195 that I have from years ago......

FN segregates commercial and LE products. SS195 is for commercial sales. SS198 is for LE sales, and is so marked. Other than the green tip on 198 and the packaging it is my opinion that they are the same. Same bullet weight and same velocity, at least out of my guns over my chronographs. YMMV.

what lots have you been comparing? Actual current production blue/white SS195LF, or the old whitebox stuff?
Good question. IIRC, the "white box" SS195LF was loaded to the same specs as the SS192 so it is "hotter" than the current SS195LF. I think the old "white box" SS195LF is the same as the current SS198LF. I have half a case of the "white box" left but would hate to use any of it for a comparison of the SS195LF White Box vs the SS198LF Green Tip ammo. Considering the current price of 5.7 ammo, I am glad that I still have some white box left that cost me $17.48 for a box of 50. Oh the days when you could get a case of 2000 rounds for $699. Funny thing is that it was considered expensive at the time that I bought it. But the SS192 was more expensive at the time IIRC.....

My white box lot is FNB07D963-011 model number 1070013, clearly marked Made in Belgium.

White box SS195LF manufactured in Belgium is no longer made. This was the replacement for SS192.

White/Blue box SS195LF is still being made and imported from Belgium. This is the replacement for White box SS195LF. It is not as hot as the SS192 or original SS195LF.

Does anyone have velocity numbers comparing old white box SS195LF, with the black/white box SS195LF, and SS198? I have a Magnetospeed Sporter that I plan to use to test 2013 AE 40gr vs 2020 AE 40 gr to see what's going on, but I have white box SS195LF as well,

I've compared quite a bit of various lots over the years, and it can vary quite a bit, especially AE TMJ and SS197SR

So I used some SS198LF I bought a few months ago and they were showing 2500 ft/s, same as my 2006-lot SS195LF. The 2021-lot SS195LF was 100 ft/s slower at 2400 ft/s.
