Now I know some of you on here are worried about the height of your sights so I thought I would share some pictures I took today.
I didn't have a ruler with me but guessing, I would say that the USSS ring sight is about 5mm shorter than the Factory White Ring Sight.

For a dimensional Comparision of the two ring sights, the USSS black ring sight is smaller than the white ring sight.

White Ring Sight on Left and USSS RBlack Ring Sight on Right. Note the USSS right sight is smaller in height.

Sorry for the poor pictures, I had some bad lighting problems.

The USG sight does look a little shorter. FN should have started selling the PS90s with the USG sight rather than hand out the inferior MC-10-80.

I know this gets confusing because its different all over the internet but according to Ring Sight.

From Ring Sights:
HC-14-62 - White Reticle Ring Sight with plastic housing.
MC-10-80 - Black Reticle Ring Sight with metal housing.
Wiki has it listed the other way around. Personally I am a bit confused myself. Maybe someone can ask FN in the next Q&A for a difinative answer.

---------------
RING SIGHT HC-14-62
FN chose our HC type with a circular aperture of 14mm diameter for their P90 sight. The HC design has a dual reticle - rings and a dot for day, open T for night. The open T doesnot obscure the target which may be difficult to discern if the reticle overlays it.Its height is greater, for a given aperture, than the LC type but this can easily be fitted intothe space between the barrel axis and the sight line. On the P90 the optic housing is plastic and the interface of the housing with the gun is by two zeroing screws. The optic can be put into other housings such as one with a laser pointer beneath it,complete with the laser battery, on a zeroing mount with range settings, the whole on adovetail interface for the British 5.56mm rifle.

RING SIGHT MC-10-80
The MC-10-80 is specifically designed for the FN Herstal P90. The sight is a unit power telescopic sight with a black graticule for day use and a open T for night use lit by a red tritium light source. Being NVG compatible it is ideally suited to 24 hour operations.

Here is a great web site that has lots of info on the PS90.

I had a feeling you would say that...
I tried many times today but my camera would focus on everything but that so they all turned out blurry. Which is why there were no rear shots.
I'll try again though. Maybe from a different angle. I'll try and get the light collector for you though.

periscope effect of the USG sight

The USG sight is not only dimensionally lower on the receiver, the offset design makes the line of sight lower(closer to the barrel) than anything else possble. The front lense(objective) is actually lower than the rear mounting surface. Even though you are looking through the eyepiece above the rear mounting surface, the line of sight(height over bore) is actually below that point. Not having measured a USG equped model, I would estimate it has a height over bore of about 3". lower than any other possible sight.

YEP! That is why FNH discontinued the white ring sight. However, I'd love to see a comparison test (including price) between the black ring sight and the white ring sight with the REM 2 or T3 upgrade!

Here is the White Ring Sight with the REM T3

Send me a T3 and I'll give you my best unbiased opinion :D :D :D
I'd be glad to post a comparison between the black reticle & White w/REM ring sights as I now have several of each mounted in various applications including firearms other than the PS90.

I've got both a USSS Black Reticle & a White Ring w/REM2 that I've been using for development & testing. Lots of range time with both. Prior to the REM2 installation I had a preference in using the black reticle and would even switch it out between PS90s which led me to buy another two black reticles. After I installed the REM2 on the white ring I have been using the white ring w/REM a little more than the black reticle. But, Maybe that has something to do with a new rail mount for the Ring Sight....
The REM really works great, without it I wouldn't use the white ring sight at all.

I'll send you one of my prototypes for you to use. Looking forward to seeing the viewing and price comparison. I'm also looking forward to testing your rail. can't wait to try it out.

I had a change to heft a PS90 with this sight last week and it is 100% better than the stock ghost ring. It is well worth the $ IMHO.
