Installed a suppressor on my SBR PX90 yesterday and am veeeeeery happy with the results .

Fired it quite a bit before and after dark yesterday to get an idea of noise level (and neighborhood dog response) compared to a suppressed 10/22, p/22 and a mac 11/9mm . The little 5.7 cartridge fired thru the can in the pic below is absoloutley pellet gun quite , for the first time I can hear the bolt hit the buffer followed by a "boing" sound as the bolt hits the breach face and the spring bounces.
Of course there is a little balistic crack shooting it in the yard , but subsonic ammo will solve that . I fired it quite a bit out over the gulf yesterday to hear it without the balistic crack and its no louder than my spring piston airgun. Not silent with the 197 but almost , quite enough to shoot with no hearing protection and you can hear everything going on inside the gun when it cycles. Cant wait to try out some subsonic 62-68 gr loads .

Anybody else here running a suppresor on one yet?

I

when I finally get my Form 1 back Im gonna get the Bi-lock so I can use my M4-96D on the PS-90.

p.s. I hate waiting for forms and this is my first form 1 build as my others have all been 4's for transfers and I heard 1's take a little longer to process.

No suppressed ammunition

I have a gemtech suppressor for the PS90. The instructions state not to use suppressed ammunition in it.

I have sent an e-mail to Gemtech, but have not gotten any reply as of yet.

wanting to mount a suppressor

I am new to the PS90 world, and just purchased my TR a couple of weeks ago. After viewing some of the posts, it looks like there is not a way to permanently mount a suppressor on a short barrel to make it legal length. I live in Alabama, and we can own class III, but not a SBR. I don't want to add any length to the current barrel. Anyone have options or suggestions? :-?

Thanks!

That bbl is one I make for the ps90 , the suppressor is one of mine also .

I have not noticed any problems shooting the gun with the suppressor in place with subsonic ammo or full power stuff. I have close to 1k rds with the suppressor in place with no problems so far. There is of course alot more back pressure with the suppressor in place but it was an easy matter to machine the suppressor adapter a in such away as to cause the bbl to reciprocate a little farther than stock so the case has more dwell time in the chamber allowing a little extraq time for chamber pressure to drop , It was fairly easy to tune it. I now leave the suppressor adapter on that can and just screw my regular flash hider back in place which shortens up dwell time for unsuppressed shooting

I have a Tac-16 5.56 suppressor that I run on my SBR with the CMMG 1/2x28 thread adapter. It is very quiet, but I haven't been able to try it with any subsonic loads. My dad took my old barrel and barrel shroud and he is attempting to have something put on the end that will have it thread to 1/2x28 and still meet the overall length requirement so I'll have to post a final pic when he is done with that project. I don't know when it will be done as he is busy with other things, but it seems plausible.

photonance,

A guy in Georgia has a company called G-Man Weaponry. He permanently attaches his suppressors to SBR AR15's to make them 16" TitleI non NFA weapons. He just drills and blind pins the cans on. I bet if you provide him your barrel he will permanently attache one of his cans for you. I seem to remember his can and labor was $600. You can give him a call @ 404-271-3522

I am glad I read this thread. I am also interested in a hard mounted supressor for the 90 without making the barrel longer. I know my 308 have a flash hider soldered on to a shortened barrel to get it back to 16 inch. Figured why not a suppressor. Please let me know the outcome of the call. Also nice to know about the law in Alabama, just bought land there for when I retire from the military, go figure

panaceabeachbum,

Can you give us the lowdown on the custom work you did on your upper receiver? I am interested in having the back arch milled off my tri-rail model but the rail will still sit higher than yours and will not extend past the front of the lower as yours does.

Is this a service you offer, and if so what is the cost?
