I placed an order for my G2 Flashlight on the Surefire website. Two days later I went to Lowes for some stuff for my house and when I was in the checkout line what did I see but a whole bunch of Surefire G2 LED lights. I persuaded the wife to let me get another one.

Aaaanyway, long story short, I didn't receive the light I ordered direct from Surefire for TWO MORE WEEKS. That and I spent $24 more for the privilege of waiting that long ($20 shipping and $4 more than Lowes).

So if you're looking for a Surefire G2(L) or 6P(L), check your local Lowes, you might be able to save some time and money.

Thanks for the info - did U get it to mount on your FS2000?
Yep. I modded the handguard based on the info I found in this thread in this section of the forum.

In the pic thread, here, you can see it. The pressure switch wasn't mounted yet because the Duracoat wasn't completely cured, so I just flipped it to the other side for the pic.

Question regarding the light. Any reason why a surefire 6p Would not work? I think the aluminum housing would do better with heat especially with an upgraded bulb. I have both and am just wondering if there is a specific reason why everyone goes with the g2

I have one of each mounted on carbines.

I went with the G2 on the SLR-106FR for 1)weight and 2)cost--I had a spare one laying around.

I have a 6PL on my 6920, and it's a nicer light, but I truthfully haven't had an issue with either one.

The proper use of white light in a defensive situation won't have you over heating your light. You use it very sparingly, you don't just turn it on an leave it on like you see in movies and tv.

New user did the G2 mod

Hey guys, bare with me.

I did the G2 mod to my handguard and took a bunch of pictures. I wanted to post them to help others make it because it really works well. I read in the rules the pictures have to be limited to 750 pixels. How do I modify my pics and post them here? Is there a limit?
Thanks.

I just want to give back something because this helped me a lot when I did my mod.

Scroll

If you look at the bottom of your computer there is a scroll bar. At least on my computer if I push is right all the pics show up. The last on is my gun with the green case. If that doesn't work let me know. :?

I fixed it for you - but please don't stack them wide again - all that was necessary was a hard return in between each of them. No one should have to scroll that far to the right.

Thanks :?

Now, I just need to figure out a laser pointer mount with the light, and I'm good to go.. (Want it as close to the barrel as possible.. Just point and shoot for CQB.)
Get a holo sight for CQB and put the laser on a pistol for point and shoot. That's what works well for me.
