You will probably see some forum remarks about the 17S barrel shoulder being less than nominal for a surefire 7.62 suppressor mounted on the SOCOM 762 muzzle brake. That is, after several firing, the suppressor is not aligned with the barrel leading to a possible baffle strike. See SCAR 17 Muzzle Device Compatibility List.
However, you can check the suppressor/muzzle brake/barrel alignment with a GEISSELE AUTOMATICS LLC 7.62MM SUPPRESSOR ALIGNMENT ROD. Rod is available at Brownells and MidwayUSA.
I mounted the Surefire SFMB-762;5/8-24 Muzzle Brake with the Surefire SOCOM 762-RC QD suppressor on my 17S and have had no issues. Before I go to the range, I do a Geissele rod alignment check.
