Here's a picture of my M1A SOCOM16. The 16" barrel makes it a bit lighter and easier to carry than a typical M1A.

I bought this Leupold FX-II 2.5x28mm Scout scope to go on top of it....

So this spring when I can get to an outdoor range, I will sight it in and then I will tell you all if I think this scope is worth $400.......

Sweat rifle, I almost bought one myself. Don't know if you saw these stocks for it from www.troyind.com. They appear very high tech.

The M14 rifle was the first military weapon I was ever issued (USN 1986).
I've owned a M1A ever since and thought that you just couldn't get much better as far as a rugged battle rifle with amazing long range accuracy.
Then along comes the Troy MCS for the M14/M1A.
I just couldn't help myself...
