Okay, so it's not really a TPS, it's a Winchester 1300 Defender. Pretty damn close. Anyway, I bought the gun new a few years ago, and after only a hundred or so shells the finish on the slide arms started to wear off.

It doesn't bother me so much that I have to do something about it, and it's just cosmetic, but it's something I'd like to take care of if it's not going to be too much of a hassle or expense.

Ideas? Is the slide arm stainless? Could it be a potential rust area? If not, how do you think it would look bare? Should I cold-blue it? Have it hot-blued? What about Duracoating it?

Thanks.

If it just a little wear spot and will be OK just wipe it down with a little oil

any pump shotgun will have that if it has had more than a few rounds through it. Personally I would think that applying any form of coating would just wear back off and be a waste of money that could have been spent on ammo :D

I realize that it's just cosmetic and in no way affects function, it's just something that I was looking at today while I was bored. I was half-way considering taking it down to bare metal with some very fine sand paper or emery cloth, but I'm not sure how that would look or if it would be prone to rusting.
