My recently purchased 57 which I thought was a USG model is actually a IOM??

It does not have the round trigger guard but while inspecting the paperwork and labels on the case it clearly states it is an IOM.

I didn't think IOM's were made with the squared off trigger guard.

Can someone shed some light on this? I already double checked the serial number on case vs gun. Case says
"FIVE SEVEN IOM ASSY" as does the manual.

My later USG with the blue plastic case liner, and no cleaning kit was still marked IOM on the sticker and internal documents. Not sure they ever changed it.

You would think a company like FN would want to be accurate.
