The markings look a lot like my 50.63 I bought new in 1987. Does it say HOWCO anywhere on it? Curious to the asking price.
Where should the "HOWCO" markings be located? I could ask the seller for a pic of that area. How much would you pay for it?

Gun South import, real deal. Or rather, at least the receiver is. Not sure why anyone would take a real deal and put a (incorrect) parts kit on it, so just based on the receiver I'd assume it is the real thing.

Is it sear cut?
I don't know anything about FAL rifles, so i would not know what a sear cut is or how a sear cut should look. However i'm assuming sear cut means it could take a FA sear like the HK mp5's and hk 91's ?
How much would you pay for something like this today?
and what additional pictures should i ask the seller for ?

thats a beauty, I had the same rifle. Looking at what real belgium LAR's are going for, I suspect around $3500? I paid $1200 for mine in 1984, and like a complete idiot I sold it in 92....Made money on it then, but I have always regretted selling it.

You can't even find a Brazilian made SAR-48 for those prices much less a real FN FAL.
There is a pre-89 ban SAR48 for sale on the falfiles market place right now for $1800

A "plain" Belgian pre-ban import $2500-$4k depending on how nice, which importer, sear cut or not, what exact model/configuration. Then you get into the very limited stuff, like the Rogak imports (50 of 'em in the country), the Poyer imports (last legal FALs/L1A1s brought in), or the amnesty list G series rifles. Figure on $6-8k there. Then you get into the class 3 stuff (about $10-12k), and then the very rare stuff (ie, a pair of consecutive numbered Poyers, NIB sear cut amnesty guns in various configs, etc).

My last two FALs were both "real FN's" one being a near mint G series and the other a 50.42 sear cut, pretty sure I'm up on current FAL price levels except on really rare versions. My current FAL is a select fire so I'm up on that price as well. Lots of real FN FALs have been sold on GB and the files lately for $2500-$4000 depending on importer, sear cut and condition.

Anymore talk of how to/converting a weapon to full auto will result in an instant ban. :p

Thread cleaned.
