Anyone heard when the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x is gonna drop? I put one on pre order with CameraLand and thought is was supposed to drop by the end of spring. Called CameraLand and asked but they didn't know when Vortex will finally be shipping it.

I pre ordered mine shortly after shot show. When it was supposed to be out early Spring (late March, early april). I found a thread on the AR forum where a Vortex rep said July-August. Guess we will have to, just, wait and see.

Most of the things I've heard from people that have handled the Strike Eagle is that it's much better than the PA offering. The SE is going on my silenced M&P 15-22. So if it turns out great, great. If it's just OK, then it's just OK. I'm pretty excited to see how it is though.

I really hope it is....1-6 with better glass than the PA and a lifetime warranty for that price will be a steal. Can't wait for it to actually hit the shelves so we can get some solid hands on reviews.

I ordered a Strike Eagle from optics planet. Vortex says it will be released late July or early August. Putting it in a LaRue LT 111 mount on my 17s. If it isn't enough for the 17s I'll put it on my Sig 516. Can't wait to try it out.

Optics planet said 4 weeks out. I'll put a couple hundred down the tube and put a review up in the scar accessories forum.

I just picked up this scope today with an American Defense AD30 mount. I was looking at the Leupold VX-R Patrol scopes as well and decided on the Vortex Strike Eagle 1 - 6 x 24 for several reasons to include price. I paid $329.95 vs $659.95 (VX-R Patrol). I found the Vortex to be a brighter scope (side by side comparison) and I like the Vortex AR-BDC reticle better. Another reason I made my choice was due to the Vortex having covers on the turrets and flip up lens covers included. I also found that the Vortex was easier to get a good sight picture with, better eye relief. I'll be taking this mounted on my LE6920 to the range this week and reporting back.
