As soon as congress bails out the banks in a few days - we will be Socialists. We do not need Obama and the libs to be elected to hit what they have hoped to get to for years.

Yes, Hugo Chavez will be our brother soon. George Washington must be turning over in his grave now.

So much for the Constitution.

Yep, the right and the left have been pointed at each other saying "watch out for them" when all the while they are both in cahoots with each other to control the masses. It's the old have'sand have not's situation. We all can't complain too much though. We put Billy Bob BUSH in office, the guy that bankrupted every civilian company he ran.

Now we have the great socialism "patriot Act" and "warrentless wiretapping law" because the government needs to protect us. The Dem's have also been feeding this situation as well. There is plenty of blame to go around.

I say no bail out. Let them FAIL. These civilian corporation's wanted deregulation, they had their lobbiest pushing it, well now they have it. Enjoy your meal. I'd put everyone including congressmen and senators CEO's and anyone else possably involved on a NO Fly list till they work out who was involved, freeze all of their accounts.

"Amazing that someone from Goldman Sachs is now in charge of this debacle. Sigh.................."

One of the reasons Wall Street has been net Democrat over the last 15 years. They play footsie with government and make sure things rather than risking loss in a competitive market.

Paulsen and his wife have been net Democrat political donors.
He appointed Eric Mindich, a top John Kerry 2004 fundraiser and Obama supporter, to head the Asset Managers’ Committee of the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets.
He tapped Bob Steel to be Treasury Under Secretary for Domestic Finance, a retired Goldman Sachs vice chairman who worked there with Robert Rubin; and has donated exclusively to Democrats, including Sen. Chucky Schumer and Clinton hit man Erskine Bowles in North Carolina.
He was head of a Gore-like lefty enviornmental organization, The Nature Conservancy.
From the Center for Security Policy’s Frank Gaffney's testimony against Paulsen at his confirmation hearing: "Under Mr. Paulson’s leadership at Goldman Sachs, the company has been instrumental to the growth of Chinese economic power and particularly to its penetration of Western capital and other markets. He has been directly involved in developing his firm’s relationships with the PRC, priding himself on having made 70 trips there since late 1991. Consider just a few of the deals Goldman has managed, underwritten or otherwise facilitated under Henry Paulson’s leadership:
In 2005, Goldman Sachs not only advised the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) in its attempted takeover of Unocal. It also strove to ensure that the Chinese state-owned company’s bid prevailed after ChevronTexaco offered $17 billion in an effort to keep Unocal in U.S. hands. CNOOC was able to up the ante to $18.5 billion for the American concern, thanks to a bridge-loan Goldman Sachs arranged (along with J.P. Morgan). "

The Republicans are helpless. :-x

Not to change the subject but on the issue of contrabutions to one party or another, I think that if you see Politician A get a million bucks and Politician B get 300 thousand bucks that most people think that Politician A is in favor of the idea cuz they gave him more money. Not so, remember that this (was) is a free market acconomy. Politician A just wouldn't flinch until they offered him more money. Something to think about.
