I wanted to get an idea of how much use people's PS90s are seeing to judge wear and tear issues. How many rounds are have you put through your weapon? How many on the mags (just a guess)?

I've got approx. 5000 rounds through mine and see almost no wear on the parts, save the casing nicks in the ejection port. The magazines, on the other hand, are a different matter. They've failed at about 50% -- three out of six have either failed or are showing damage. I estimate they've only got between 500-1000 rnds through each. That's over the course of a year.

roughly 1000 rounds. i have seven mags, i'd like to get up to ten. for my other weapons i like a minimum of 12 mags...but with the P90 it gets expensive.

hardly any wear, even on the hammer. i'm surprised it holds up so well.

also, i don't understand people who put velcro on their shell deflectors on their ARs or in the ejection port of the P90.

i think certain kinds of wear are a badge of honor. 8)

also no mag problems for me. but i rotate the ones i use at the range a lot and i only ever load up 40 rounds at a time.

I think one thing that will help limit wear on the mags is to not just push them down to snap them in place. But to pull back the mag release buttons while inserting the mag. That way it goes in easier and seems less destructive???

I thought of that after the first failure and have been doing it. I think I may just have the bad mag fairy sitting on my ass. (Might explain the lump, too...) :-D

This is the really frustrating thing. I don't abuse the weapon, but the bloody things are cracking...all at or near the same point. I think it just might be bad plastic or epoxy.

5000+ through mine. Never a single mishap. Very little wear.
I've taken it out in some exceedingly nasty weather and it held up then too. A hint of rust on the flashhider after 12 hours in freezing rain.
ONE PROBLEM-
I have two small bulges in the bore, right were the barrel exists the receiver. Doesn't seem to affect accuracy but it bugs me. I'm going to fix the problem by SBRing it.
I have 8 mags and they are all doing fine. Though there is one that's kinda 'sticky'.

Can you post a photo? Can you send the mag to FNH?

This could be a real issue if a new AWB comes along.
I already shipped one back to FN and got a new mag for it, but if I keep sending them in I suspect I'll eventually get a "jog on" from them. I'm just going to monitor and buy a few new ones. I number and rotate them to cut down on wear. We'll see what happens.

Aluminum receiver coating???

Right out of the box, I have a small spot of silver aluminum showing through the black coating on the receiver, near the notch in front where the end of the magazine rests. Is there anything I can do about that? Is that something FN would do anything about? What type of coating is it?

U will always get wear there - It's wear the mag rubs the receiver.

I am a fanatic about the condition of my guns and not marking them up.

But just like a handgun always develops wear on the barrel hood - the PS90 will show wear there quickly from inserting and removing the magazine. Only way not to is to not use the gun.

Figures... I did notice that the mag slides across that part. I'm just not thrilled about the bare metal being exposed. Is the finish some type of powder coat?
