My local shop has one, I just saw it last week. I think it was like $525 or $550. I asked about it, and they claimed it was reliable. It looked pretty kewl.

You might say I have experience with one. I bought one in 2001 for $400 and sent it off to tromix for conversion in Sept 2007, I received it back in March 2008. I have several 10 round AGP mags for it and I am currently waiting for a MD arms 20 round drum that will hopefully ship in about a week. Here are some pictures, enjoy:

Stock Saiga 12, 22" barrel 5 round magazine

Saiga 12, Tromix converted 10 round magazine (18" barrel)

$625 is not a bad price right now, before the election they were between $550 and $600. If you want one now is the time to get one. Even in stock form they are pretty devastating. I've been looking for a 19" model for a back up if thats the one the store has I would buy it in a heartbeat. Oh did I mention they're fun as all get out!

I've shot one. Not quite my thing, but it was cool and worked fine for us that day. I'd definitely take a Saiga over that SPAS you were talking about getting.

To me if you like ak style weapons than the saiga is the perfect fit. if you do convert it and get the 20 round drum than it is the ultimate CQB weapon the average citizen can get its hands on. I have put 300 rounds through mine since the conversion and it has been flawless. It does not recoil as much as other 12 gauge shotguns and the fact that you can reload 5, 10, or 20 rounds very quickly is a definite plus. This is the only semi auto shotgun I own and I love it!

I shot one once and was pretty impressed. But I'm a pump guy at heart and a 20 round drum with 000 and 00 buck and slugs sounds like a WILD time!!!!

That is impressive looking. Don't know that I'd rely on it OVER a pump. But it would make a helluva mental and physical impact until it failed to fire!

When I saw it last week - I contemplated buying it. But, I have no place to shoot a shotgun locally - unless you shoot skeet. The range that would let me shoot a shotgun on the rifle range closed in 1999. I used to have a Winchester 1300 Defender, and after that range closed, it sat on the rack for years until I finally sold it.

Plus, I've always been a fand of handguns over rifles. The PS90 is my SHTF weapon. I'll stick with that.
