197 or 195 - there seems to be a lot of back and forth on which is the better self defense ammo.

Which is your choice and why?

I like the look of the 197 personally. I feel the fire about the same, but the 197 just looks like something worth the money I pay. Which is funny because it is just looks really.

Well, I think I am preferring the 197 - while it doesn't have the penetration of the 195 - I have read some impressive tests members of various boards have done. I think the expansion is worthwhile compared to the yaw of the 195.

At first, I loaded up my PS90 with 195 - but after I shoot the current mag, I may keep 197 in it.

Also, while my PS90 shoot at about the same point of impact with 195 or 197 - I have read that it makes a bigger difference in the Five Seven. Supposedly, the 195 is spot on with the sights and 197 is low.

I will probably only use 197 in the Five Seven when I get it. Since it has adj sights, I may just set it for the 197 only.

I get the ammo I can. Since my ps90 not used as a nightstand gun I shoot everything up. Of the 2? were does ss196 fall? I picked some up from a small shop for 10.00. The owner said he had it for awhile and wanted to get rid of it. Red tip instead of the blue my store has?

It is slower than the blue tip stuff, but works the same. It's probably towards the bottom of the list for self defense purposes.

the factory ammo I havent shot anything but paper targets with ss192, ss195, ss196, and ss197

since I can get the ss197 cheaper then the ss195 in my area i would have to choose ss197. I have heard the ss195 is a better round all together but i am still researching this
