Local range had a S&W days a few weeks back so I bought a M&P .40

In April they have an H&K day. I really don't know much about H&K handguns - Looking for suggestions on what to buy.

I have a 9m HK USPc. I hard chromed the slide. I love that gun. Admittedly, it is a fullsize grip with a shorter barrel - and I do not shoot as well with it as 4"+ barrelled guns... Probably the sight radius - as I always have this problem with sub 4" barreled guns.

Anyway - it is a great gun. I did have a fullsize USP 9mm, but I sold it to buy my fullsize P99 - as the grip was a bit large for my hands. I kinda wish I still had that USP, however.

I wanted a 45 ACP USP, but the grip is even bigger - too big of a gun for my hand.

The HK45 and P30 looks very sweet. And, as the compacts have a smaller grip that isn't as fat - 1 day I may have to get a 45 USP compact.

I did see the new HK 45 and P30 and had a chance to hold them
They look nice - sort of an update to the USP I think

Simple if you prefer 45 get the new HK45. If you prefer 9 get a P-30. The P-30 is the most ergonomic handgun ever, shoots superbly to. The new HK45 also has a superb grip and is totally reliable. Unless you need concealment the 2 new HK's are about the best pistols ever in their respective calibers..............................DJ

I finally got to see an HK P30 today at my local shop. They want $795 for it.

They were to busy for me to ask to handle it, though. Plus, my wife was waiting on me, so I had to keep it quick :-?

The new P30 felt really nice int he hand. I'm thinking seriously of one of the P7s, now that all the German polizei surplus is flooding the country.

Try the HK45. It's a thinner grip with changeable backstraps. My USP 45f is really too big for my hands but my HK45 is a great fit.
