What if?

If U had the money tomorrow to go buy another PS90, would U set it up differently? Would U buy a different version?

I think I'd buy a black tri-rail PS90. Then, I'd definetly short barrel it (since its an extra). I'd only mount something on the outside on this one - just a flashlight. And, I'd put another Eotech on it. The EOtech is much better for close quarters because of the larger window than say, an Aimpoint. JMHO...

I'd stick with the same sling.

I thought about the version with the stock black sight. But, even with the different color, it is much easier and faster to look thru an Eotech and pick your target than looking thru that stock sight, IMHO 8)

Shouldn't be a factor if you have keep both eyes open.

BTW, I like (and have) both.

That's not the question
Hmmm, I think, I would still have to wait for my first one to arrive :-(

The EOTech is just to damned big for a PDW system.

I have used the EOTech and it is over rated. I would go with the Zeiss Z-Point because of the neat features I wished my EOTech and Aimpoint had like the automatic dot intensity sensor that will automatically increase or decrease the intensity of the dot when moving from dark to bright rooms.

The large field of view is moot because your going to be keeping both eyes open when your shooting.

I've prev read neg comments about that Zeiss thing on other forums...

Well, I like my eotech. I looked at other red dots, and it seemed like ya had to look at it a bit harder because the tube was smaller.
tough questiong.....Since I already have a Green and Black one...a USSS PS90 and a PS90 TR....Whats left for a third one(thats not NFA)...
What negatives are you reading about the Z-Point?....

Every time you pull up your rifle, you should have a natural point of aim that puts the rifle on target without needing to use the sight. Square yourself to your target then snap the rifle up towards your target without lowering your cheek to the gun. (Bring the gun up to your cheek, not your cheek down to the gun.) Your gun will point towards your target using your bodies "natural point of aim" Keeping both eyes open, focus on the target and your sight should be centered on the target instinctively.

If this is your first rifle, I highly recommend learning to shoot with iron sights on a rifle such as a Ruger Mini-14 or AR-15. This will greatly improve your bodies natural point of aim. This skill can also be aquired by using a Ruger 10/22 or Red Ryder BB gun.... http://www.shootwhereyoulook.com/
I'll be honest - I read several things about ot last year - I really don't remember what the complaints were. I just remember seeing more than 1.

Anyway - I am more than happy with my eotech.

Actually, I did have a shotgun years ago. I shot it occasionally. I sold it after it sat there for years. Didn't use it that often.

This is my 1st real rifle, true. But, I've never cared for the typical rifle design - that's why I always avoided them. The only one I like is this gun :)

But I have looked thru different optics - sometimes they have a bunch of stuff out at the gun shows, and many of them are left on. To me, the eotech is my fav.
Have you looked at the new USSS Black Ring Sight?

Just pics - but I can't imagine that I would do as well with it at a distance - the dot is bigger than the eotech dot. And, at night, I doubt it's that great - kinda like the performance of the white ringed sight.
The dot on the USSS sight is the same size or even a little smaller, It think you are referring to the inside ring, there are 2 rings and a dot on the daylight reticle on the USSS sight.
I would buy a black one and replace the receiver with one of those cool billet receivers from thompson machine :D

Well, if I get a chance to look thru one at the show next week, I will. But I don't think the center dot is 1 MOA on the sight. I might be wrong.

Anyway, I like my Eotech the best :)

MAYBE if they offered a trade in for the white sight I would trade in for the black on at $100. Otherwise, no dice. I'm not spending $500 on the black sight when there are so many better optics out there at that price point.
Too bad your not near me Shipwreck, I'd let you use my USSS to see for yourself. As for the $500, you can get them for $400 now. My guess is it will probably fall down to $300 and that will become the "Street Price" for a new USSS.

Yea... Well, move to TX :p

I imagine I'll see some at gun shows soon. But, in the dark, the tritium probably functions the same as the white one, right? Even in the dark, w/o an LED, I didn't find the sight very usable.
I got a black one with a Trijicon Tri Power on it that I love. If I got a second one I would do it up the exact opposite. So it would be green, SBR, with the USSS sight
