I am leaning towards getting a ACR next yr and I wondered how does the Scar compare to it?

I have both and assume you are referring to the current ACR and not the rumored updated ACR. Hands down I take the SCAR. The weight of the ACR is a deal breaker for me.

As mentioned, weight is the determining factor for me. ACR is just too heavy for what it is, worse still it's front heavy.

I favor the SCAR , additionally I believe there was reciever issues w/Remmy early on. The launch was messed up along with component design problems ...If I remember correctly. They probably have that straightened out at this point but I would love to have many cool guns especially if $$$ was not an option.
I can say the 17 I have has not let me down !

I would recommend asking the ACR forum what they think too, that way you can get a 50/50 opinion...

I really like my ACR. It was on the heavy side but after chopping the barrel down to 10.3" and adding a modular rail it cut weight down quite a bit. I'd take either on as they both have things I like and dislike.

Had the ACR, actually I had 3 ACR's, sold all off and have 3 SCAR's. ACR is a decent rifle but not as refined as the SCAR platform.

If you don't go for the SCAR, what you really need is to get yourself an XCR. :-D
