So what's a Mk-II? I found this in WikiPedia:
In 2013, the Five-seven MK2 model was introduced, replacing the USG
model.[17] The MK2 model has cocking serrations on the front of the slide,
all black controls, and slightly different iron sights.[17]
And elsewhere read the "controls are all black".
Are all these differences just trivial cosmetic changes, or more fundamental
differences? I read the slide (cover?) is different for the sights, that seems
pretty major (in a minor sort of way). Barrel? Magazines? Frame/receiver?
All controls in the same place and work the same way?
Is the "correct" name "Mk-II", or "USG Mk-II", or ??? Are FDE/ODG colors
still options? (Or is "FDE" a "model name" in its own right?)
Not [yet] being vested in a supply of magazines, sights, barrels, and other
assorted spare parts, would I want my first purchase to be a Mk-II? (So
that going forwards I accumulate MK-II-compatible barrels (threaded),
magazines, and all the related riffraff?
Wondering...
