Loaded Chamber Indicator

I went to the range today and could not see any indicator on my FNX tac. I never looked before because I never cared to look, I always assumed the bullet was in there after I racked it. Then just now I realized why I couldn't see it. I was viewing the pistol from the side. Unlike my S&W 1911 that shows a red dot on the side of the gun, this indicator is only visible from directly overhead looking down - the red does not appear on the side like most guns I have shot and owned. Only a small sliver of red becomes visible when looking straight down onto the top of the gun from above. Gun powder can easily obscure it as well after several hundred rounds if you have not pushed it out and cleaned the red part when cleaning your piece. The picture on page one of this thread shows this nicely. The manual says a red dot is visible on the side of the slide but does not say that you can't see it if your not looking directly down on the top. So don't feel dumb if you did not see the indicator at first because I was doing the same exact thing today lol.

When Round is chambered Indicator is slightly raised and can be felt with dominant hand Thumb. You can tell if a Round is chambered in darkness. ( If Rt Hand is strong Hand ) Lefties need to see Indicator... Or pull Trigger. If Gun fires there was a chambered Rnd...heheh!
