I found some data while researching Stryker Enterprises.....wow, lots of stuff on that company.

Anyway, "the OEM polymer module weighs in at 4.4 ounces........the S.E.A.L. is 6 ounces more,....."

The end result would be an eight pound, six ounce rifle.

 

How much more weight you think that aluminum latch and stock mount for the back would weigh in at? I'm thinking it would add another 2-3 oz, putting the total weight around 8 lbs 9oz.

 

I could not find any figures on those

 

A Stryker S.E.A.L. lower is only 4 ounces NET heavier with the heavier Magpul MIAD grip which may make it only a couple of ounces NET heavier.

Why do I say NET weight? Because PMAG mags are LIGHTER than STEEL FN Scar mags as you can see on my digital kitchen scale:

I'm looking for a gross weight after adding the aftermarket lowers and hinges so as not to compare the rifle it to itself but to other weapon systems. Basically, once you add the features necessary to bring the rifle up to snuff in terms of durability to actually be called a battle rifle- how much does it weigh?

So far the aluminum lowers add 4-6 oz and likely the hinge adds at least 1-2 oz, taking the average- about 6.5 oz which puts it at 8 lbs 6.5 oz. That basically makes it as heavy as most AR based platforms.

And I stated that "You got a beef with Stryker or not, I do not care". So I really do not care whether you do or not.
